Our topic this term
This term we will be exploring our new Inquiry based concept on ‘How our local area has changed?’ We will be investigating our local area, looking at similarities and differences between our homes and who lives in them, comparing the height of our homes and using the mathematical vocabulary such as ‘Taller’ and ‘Shorter’.
In Maths, we will be continuing to focus on our number skills by learning to reliably count to 10, we will also be looking at the number 1 in Ten Town with ‘King One’.
During our Talk for Writing sessions we will be looking at the story ‘Whatever Next? and also reading lots of non-fiction stories during the day and singing lots of Nursery Rhymes.
We shall also be mark making using a variety of different tools e.g. paint brushes, pencils, crayons chalks etc. We will be learning outdoors often so please ensure your child has a change of clothes and wellies in school.
In JIGSAW lessons we will be looking at the topic ‘Being me in my world’. We will be looking at who I am and how do I fit- primarily looking at our family and who we are in relation to our class members.
