Welcome message from Chair of Governors, Mrs Lindy Butler.

Bryn Teg Community School is the amalgamation of Ysgol Yr Ynys infants, and Llwynhendy junior schools. We opened on our present site in 2007. It is a modern and extremely well-resourced school, fully equipped for teaching and learning in the 21st century. We are an English medium primary school catering for children, their families and the wider community in Llwynhendy.

We are committed to providing the highest standard of education and pastoral care to our children. They deserve the very best start in life, and we aim to ensure that they are supported and nurtured from the moment that they enter the school. We are a fully inclusive school, to all our 250+ pupils, including a Key Stage 2 speech and language unit.

As a governing body we play a full and active part in our school, we are a group made up of parents, staff and members of the wider community, we understand the schools strengths and improvement areas very well and are all fully committed in supporting the school to help every pupil reach their full potential, most of our work is done during governing body meetings but we also meet regularly with staff, the school council, we also undertake visits and learning walks at the school which allows us to meet the school pupils.

We concentrate on three main areas of school life, the school ethos, improvement of the educational outcomes for the pupils and ensuring that budgets are spent wisely.

As governors we are proud of Ysgol Brynteg and the wonderful Community Spirit that helps makes this school a great place for your children to attend.

Brynteg is a school which gives children a wonderful experience of learning, both in terms of what they need to learn to meet the demands of the curriculum and wider than that, in learning about life.

We want every child to do the best they can and to fulfil their potential, to do as the school motto says and to ‘’Reach for the stars’’.
